March Wrap Up //2022:

I usually enjoy writing wrap-up posts because they feel a little cathartic or sometimes I realize some things I hadn’t before… but March was a bit overwhelming for me, to say the least, so this is a shorter or slightly different update than what I usually do.

With that being said, I actually read a lot of good books in March so at least there was that!!

February Wrap Up 2022 & Recent Book Haul!

February was a month with ups and downs in various aspects of my life, and I’m not entirely sure how I feel about it…. so let’s just talk about books.

I was in a huge romance mood at the start of the month but two less-than-great ones made me turn to fantasy again (and fantasy romance). I also made a TBR at the beginning of the month and I actually read most of them, that’s a surprise, but I’m not sure I’ll keep making possible TBRs regularly this year.

January Wrap Up 2022

It’s already looking like 2022 will be yet another great reading year for me, though I realize now that I still haven’t posted my yearly wrap-up of 2021 where I say it was one of my best reading years of all time, if not the best.

This month I read a total of nine books. I was mostly obsessed with the Wheel of Time series. The way I’m basically binging this series, even though books are 600-1000 pages long!? It’s just too good, I can’t get enough of it. If this continues I’ll probably finish this series by March and continue to neglect the rest of my tbr. All the other books I read were pretty great as well, there was nothing bad.

BOOKS READ:

  • The Eye of the World – Robert Jordan ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5
  • The Great Hunt – Robert Jordan ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5
  • The Dragon Reborn – Robert Jordan ⭐⭐⭐.5
  • The Shadow Rising – Robert Jordan ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • The Fires of Heaven – Robert Jordan ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5
  • It Happened One Summer – Tessa Bailey ⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • ARC: The Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea – Axie Oh ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5
  • Before the Coffee Gets Cold – Toshikazu Kawaguchi ⭐⭐⭐
  • Nevermoor: The Trials of Morrigan Crow – Jessica Townsend ⭐⭐⭐.5
also on my bookstagram: dragonsandpaperbacks

I also bought 8 used books (from awesomebooks and some still haven’t arrived, so I’ll do a book haul post later) and unhauled 6 books. I didn’t stick to my book buying ban at all, it’s almost funny but considering how cheap they were, I’m not mad about it.

I also received a book from a Portuguese publisher and it’s a sort of unofficial guide to Squid Game! It will be part of my February tbr and I’m very interested in seeing if I missed any hidden details or possible foreshadowing while I was watching.

THIS MONTH ON THE BLOG

December Wrap Up 2021

December was a bit of a difficult reading month for me. I was in a bit of a slump because I was feeling stressed, and I ended spending my free time watching senseless media (or rewatching B99) and playing ACNH instead of reading. On a more personal note, December was also the month I concluded one of my yearly goals – the conclusion of my masters! I’m very happy to be finally done with that and now I’m moving on to new goals this month.

I read 6 books last month, my weakest reading month in a very long time, (I also put a couple on hold and DNFed Night Film), but these were almost all great books!

November Wrap Up //2021

It’s been a while since I’ve had such a fantasy-centric month, I think. I did read 3 romances (and 3 fantasy romances), and I don’t think I’ll ever be able to go much time without reading a romance again.

(a late) October Wrap Up //2021

It’s the middle of November so this is rather late, but let’s just get into what I read in October.

This was a somewhat mediocre, below-average reading month for me. The big problem was I had too many backlisted arcs, or blog tour arcs, and although I was indeed interested in reading all of them when I first sent my requests, I ended up not really enjoying most of them. Some were just disappointing on their own, frankly; it wasn’t necessarily a timing thing.

September Wrap Up //2021

I had such a weird reading month. I was pretty stressed about some stuff (*see the semi-hiatus update linked below*), and so my reading mood was kind of all the place. Plus, I had a few too many arcs in my tbr, I tried to read too many, and ended up reading none. Make it make sense.

I went to the Lisbon Book Fair for the first time in maybe four years, and I bought a few books there, plus two or three others throughout the month that have been on my tbr for a long time, so no regrets… kinda?

August Wrap Up //2021

August was basically a vacation month for me. I didn’t go anywhere special, but my mental health wasn’t the best right off the bat for several reasons, so I ended up barely working on my report (I still have a full-month and I’m nearly done, mind you). So I just focused on spending time with my family, reading and doing other things I enjoyed, basically. That’s how I ended up reading so much…

July Wrap Up //2021

Hello, friends, how was your July? I could make such a big list of all the good things that happened in my life in July, but today I’d just rather focus on the books.

On another note, I’m not entirely happy with my blogging this month. I had the motivation, and I’m happy with my bookstagram account again (definitely feeling more creative lately) but I’ve had to focus on working on my internship report, and enjoying holidays with my family… it’s all about and setting priorities, and blogging was not one of them but I’m hoping to be more active after the summer is over. August will likely be as chill.

June Wrap Up //2021

June was actually the perfect month. It has been a long while since I felt this happy, relaxed, and enjoyed life while simultaneously being super productive wow. June and Summer are fk magic.

I spent so much time with family, ate some Good Food, went to some art exhibits, went to the beach, the library … also bought more than a few books, but no regrets!
